Serving Phoenix, Scottsdale and all of Arizona
Tricia works in Phoenix, Scottsdale, throughout Arizona helping clients with anxiety, depression, postpartum challenges and more.
Common challenges Tricia can help you with:
Anxiety:
Anxiety often shows up as more than just worry, it's the racing thoughts that won't quiet down at night, the tight chest before a meeting that doesn't seem to match the stakes, the constant low hum of "what if" running underneath everything else. It can look like overthinking every decision, trouble relaxing even when nothing is technically wrong, irritability, or a body that stays braced for something even when your mind knows it shouldn't. Tricia works with anxiety using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based approaches to help clients interrupt the spiral, understand what's actually driving it, and build a nervous system that doesn't stay on high alert. With 27 years of experience working with both teens and adults, she's seen how differently anxiety shows up in each person, and how much relief is possible once it's no longer running the show.
Trauma:
Trauma isn't only about a single dramatic event, it can be childhood wounds, a betrayal, an accumulation of painful experiences, or anything that overwhelmed your ability to cope at the time. It can leave you hypervigilant, easily triggered, disconnected from your own emotions, or quietly convinced that people and situations aren't safe even when they are. Trauma and PTSD are among Tricia's top areas of specialty, and she works from trauma-focused and Internal Family Systems (IFS) approaches, methods specifically designed to help the parts of you that are still holding old pain feel understood and released, rather than just managed. After 27 years in this work, she describes it plainly: clients struggling to function because of trauma can focus on real recovery, not just prevention of the next crisis.
Depression:
Depression isn't always sadness you can point to… sometimes it's a flatness, a sense of moving through the day at half-volume, losing interest in things that used to matter, or being tired in a way that sleep doesn't fix. It can bring guilt, hopelessness, difficulty concentrating, or a quiet conviction that things won't get better. Tricia takes a depth-oriented approach to depression rather than a purely symptom-management one, combining CBT with Adlerian and insight-focused work to understand where the heaviness is coming from, not just how to function around it. Her relational, warm style matters here in particular: depression tends to isolate people, and having a space that feels genuinely safe and unhurried is often the first thing that starts to shift.
Postpartum Challenges
The postpartum period can bring more than the exhaustion everyone warns you about, it can bring waves of sadness, anxiety that spikes around your baby's safety, guilt about not feeling the way you "should," or a disorienting sense of disconnection from yourself or your new life. None of that means you're failing. Pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum mental health is one of Tricia's specific areas of expertise, and she creates space for new parents to say the hard, unfiltered things out loud without judgment, the resentment, the grief for your old life, the fear you can't say to anyone else. The goal isn't just to get through it, but to feel like yourself again.
